David H. Koch Theater
5th Floor Security Upgrade
Challenge: Strengthening Security in a High-Profile Venue
Located in Lincoln Center Plaza, the David H. Koch Theater hosts world-class performances—but behind the scenes, security must be just as sophisticated as the productions on stage.
To enhance safety and streamline access on the 5th floor, SPK/Lewis Construction partnered with Highline Integrated Security Systems for a comprehensive security upgrade.
This project required a multi-layered approach, integrating access control with an emergency alert system while ensuring compliance with ADA, fire, and safety regulations.
Solution: A Comprehensive Security Upgrade
Highline Integrated Security Systems designed and implemented a fully integrated security solution, improving access control and emergency response capabilities.
- Advanced Access Control: Installed iSTAR controllers, card readers, power supplies, and door contacts to manage entry to restricted areas.
- Seamless Door Hardware Integration: Installed and tested door hardware to ensure proper functionality within the access control system.
- Emergency Alert System: Implemented a pull-cord nurse call alarm with a strobe and siren, fully integrated with the access control software for centralized monitoring.
- Compliant & Reliable Infrastructure: Installed Cat6, 22/6, and 18/4 security cabling to meet ADA, fire, and safety codes.
- Project Management & Setup: Provided CAD drawings, hardware testing, and system setup to ensure smooth implementation.
